Membership

Your next paddling crew starts here.

Like what you’ve seen? Joining AKC takes three simple steps—connect with us through the AWA, create your member account and let us confirm your membership.

Three steps

From curious to club member.

Join AKC through the AWA

Open the AWA Club Registrations page and find Airdrie Kayak Club. Use the same name and email address you’ll use for your AKC account.

Create your member account

Head to the AKC member portal and submit your account details. Your account will remain pending while we confirm your membership.

Get verified and join the crew

Once approved, you can explore upcoming events, book pool sessions, join waitlists and manage your membership from one place.

Common questions

A few things to know before joining.

Do I need to be an expert?

No—but you should be able to manage your own equipment, be candid about your experience and choose activities that fit your skills. Club activities are not introductory lessons or guided trips; seek formal instruction from a qualified provider when you need it.

Do I need an AWA membership?

Yes. AKC membership is managed through the Alberta Whitewater Association, so an active AWA membership connected to Airdrie Kayak Club is required to participate.

What happens after I create an account?

Your portal account stays pending while the club confirms your membership details. Once approved, member-only tools become available.

Why can’t I see exact trip details publicly?

Meeting points, organizer contacts, registration and participant information belong to members. The public site shows enough to understand the club without exposing private logistics.

Still not sure?

Email airdriekayak@gmail.com. Tell us a little about your paddling background and what you hope to find in a club.
